SCRIPTURE OF THE MONTH
College has just ended and I have just arrived back from my trip from Spain. I think it is safe to say that my schedule has definitely died down a little. However, I find myself sometimes getting too comfortable whenever I am not on-the-go 24/7. This month I have chosen a scripture that helps me remember to continue to keep striving for success for the Glory of God. Whether it is through my education, relationships, or pastime activities, I want to make sure that I am doing the best I can with all God has given me.
If anyone speaks, he should speak as one conveying the words of God. If anyone serves, he should serve with the strength God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

Fave Fragrances:
When it comes to fragrances, I like to go for something that smells sweet and welcoming. I love fragrances that have hints of vanilla! There is just something about smelling like a sweet candy shop that makes me feel girly and happy. My two favorite, featured fragrances include Viva La Juicy Gold Couture and Kate Spade’s Live Color Fully. The Gold Couture is very sweet smelling however, it doesn’t seem to last long throughout the day. For me, it is perfect because I am not really a huge fan of a fragrance that is too strong, if you know what I mean. Kate Spade’s Live Color Fully has less of a sweet smelling scent and more of a flowery scent. However, it is still welcoming and is perfect for a beautiful spring day.
Fave Hair Products:
As a curly headed girl, I am an expert on hair products. Well, I like to think I am. Most of my favorite products are typically for the use of curly headed girls however, if you suffer from dry or damaged hair, feel free to try these techniques and products!
Kinky Curly Leave-In Conditioner: A super light, super yummy-smelling product to use right after you get out of the shower. Not only is it conditioning but it is hydrating. I have gone through two of the bottles in the past six weeks. I am certainly in love.
Carroll’s Daughter Black Vanilla Conditioner– I love using this conditioner in the shower as I detangle the monster on top of my head. It smells wonderful and has a silky feeling to its touch. A small amount will suffice (yes, even for you curly girls) and has a long lasting hydration for your busy spring day!
Coconut Oil: I am pretty sure God made coconut oil from his hands, heart, and soul. I use coconut oil on my hair especially when my hair is feeling a little limp and dry because the consistency is a lot different than my other two lighter conditioners. Coconut oil helps with dry and damaged hair as well as hair growth! I use this as a hair mask, a leave-in conditioner, and even on my skin and nails for hydration.
Hair Hasks: I discovered these little beauties in my local pharmacy when I was picking up some conditioner and I fell in love with it. For my type of hair, deep conditioning weekly is essential for healthy hair. These little packets are the perfect amount of hydration that I need once a week for a deep condition. After shampooing, I open up one of these bad boys, put my hair in two braids, leave it in overnight, and rinse in the morning.
Fave Skin and Nails Products:
Coconut Oil: Again, God’s gift to mankind. I have super dry skin and now live in a pretty cold climate so coconut oil is perfect for me. Any virgin coconut oil will do but I have been liking Shea Moisture’s brand because when warmed up, it has a very light (but still hydrating) consistency.
Sunscreen: Yes, brown people wear sunscreen and SHOULD because during the Spring, along with beautiful, budding flowers comes the beautiful sun! Regardless of the amount of melanin in your skin, though it helps, it is important for us to protect our skin from the sun’s harmful rays. This sunscreen is my favorite because it is not heavy and it smells absolutely wonderful.
OPI Colors: I never really cared about the health of my nails until I read Lauren Conrad’s Beauty book. Now, I try to do a manicure every Monday! (Talk about saving money!) These are my favorite springy colors from OPI’s Instant Shine Collection that I like to paint on my fingernails after an at home manicure. (Thanks, Lauren!)
NYX Pallet: When I went to Spain, I walked into a NYX makeup store and saw this cute little eyeshadow/blush pallet and I thought it was beautiful for spring! I am not super big on bold colors so this pallet was perfect for me. The colors are not too pigmented but are perfect for daily use on any kind of spring day and on any type of complexion.
Fave Books:
Lauren Conrad Beauty: I loved this read! I spent twelve hours on a plane on my way to Spain indulged into this book. Whether you are not a fashion or beauty blogger, Lauren Conrad did a beautiful job at using her personal experiences and research to create a project for girls who just love reading about primping and all things beauty! Check it out!
Fave Fashion Accessories:
Kate Spade Bag: I got this new Kate Spade bag just a couple of weeks ago and I have received so many compliments on it. This bold color and bold shape perfectly accentuates my typical nude centered outfits that I usually wear. There is a lot of space and even with it all the way filled up, it still isn’t too bulky. I always use this as my statement accessory for my spring outfits.
Kate spade wallet: I love wallets that turn into wristlets. As a college student sometimes it is hard lugging around a handbag along with your book bag. This Kate Spade wallet is perfect because it hold sooo much stuff and it all fits on my wrist. I can’t wait to test this baby out during my summer semester in college.
Arm Candy: I have recently become in love with arm candy. I think that accompanying my favorite watch with pretty bangles or bracelets is a perfect way to subtly show off my girly, diva personality. I now wear my favorite watch paired with my Tiffany-T bracelet along with my new Swarovski bangle.
Pearls: I will always keep a little southern within me and typically, if you look at my ears, you’ll see it. I love wearing my pearls every day especially in the spring because it accents the nudes and pastel colors that we have always love wearing in the spring. Even florals look beautiful with pearls. They are simple, elegant, and beautiful.
Fave Home/Apartment Accessories:
Flowers: I am in love with this pale pink and light purple bouquet! Flowers are the perfect way to brighten up a room in your house or apartment especially during the Spring! This bouquet is infused with lilies, pink roses, and more. Thank you so much for this amazing gift, secret admirer!
