You are not broken. Let me repeat myself so the people in the back can hear me. Dear person who has gone through some trials and tribulations, YOU are not broken.
I need you to release that weight you keep trying to carry all by yourself. I need you to stop believing that lie that you are not worthy enough for a beautiful tomorrow because of your yesterday or today. I need you to try to see beyond those vulnerable moments because insinuating that you are broken means that there is an inherit part of your design that no longer works properly and is causing overall dysfunction to your system. And that my friend if FAR from the truth. Don’t believe me? Put a hand over your heart and take a deep breath.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Pslam 139:14
You are not broken. You have climbed too many mountains and picked yourself off the kitchen floor way too many times to believe that your healing or state of being is in the hands of anybody else but yourself and whoever you pray to. They can say what they want, but getting up each time your fall to try again means a lot more than you may think.
You have been doing the work. You’ve been working so hard to love and nurture a version of yourself who is unrecognizable to a lot of people in your past, and some days even to yourself. You did it without calling “him” or having “them” check on you. You took your medicine and went to your appointments. You fell down and picked yourself back up. You’ve struggled and wanted to give up, but YOU kept going.
So let me be clear with you, person reading this who had a moment of vulnerability where you thought you were going to let those insecurities you’ve been working on creep up on you and mess with your peace because of what someone said or did to you…Allow me to be clear. You are not broken and I am so proud of you.
I am proud of you for working each day to find light and forgiveness in yourself even when you feels impossible. I’m proud of you for doing the work when nobody is looking. (Especially on the days when you felt alone.) Keep doing the work. Keep fighting for you and your joy. But never ever let anybody’s opinion about how far you’ve come discredit how much work you have been doing .
You are not broken because each day you roll out of bed, you choose to survive. You choose to live. So keep living, my friend. Keep giving yourself grace as you move through this life. It is not easy. But you are not broken. You are a gift. Most importantly, you are blessed, brilliant, and beautiful.
