Hey blessed, brilliant beauties! Today we are going to be talking about things we can on New Year’s Eve that have absolutely nothing to do with partying! I love that idea of dressing up in a super cute, gold sparkly dress with a glass of sparkling white grape juice in my hand but most of the time, that isn’t a reality for me when it comes to things I do on New Year’s Eve. To be quite honest, I don’t really like partying that much. However, I hate that I get to miss out on all the fun ‘insta worthy’ moments just because I am not into being a party girl. Well, I thought I was missing out. So for all you blessed brilliant beauties who won’t be partying this New Year’s Eve like me, here are a couple fun ideas to consider doing this New Year’s Eve!
Scrapbook and Reflect on 2017
Okay, so I know this is a total mom move BUT around the holidays, I saw that we didn’t have many scrapbooks to go through in my house. The ones that I found were of us when my siblings and I were babies! This generation take sooo many pictures on our phones and even though the digital era is great, there is nothing like organizing photos and putting them into a photobook to look back on.. Trust me, your mom will LOVE you for it ten years from now. My favorite site to use is Shutterfly! Check it out!
Spa Night
YOU ALREADY KNEW THIS WAS COMING, GIRL! Don’t have anybody to spend New Years with? Have your own spa night! Start 2018 off right by treating yourself to a bubble bath, face mask, and go ahead and slip in some ice cream with that! You deserve it blessed, brilliant beauty!
Write Your Resolutions
I know this is super basic, but writing down my goals for the new year is probably one of my favorite things to do. Someone told me that dreams written down become goals that turn into realities with hard work. This New Year’s Eve I will be praying for some vision while writing these goals for 2018! #girlbossthings
Movie Marathon
I am definitely a movie girl over TV any day! My boyfriend is an expert on picking the best movies! This New Year’s Eve, I will probably be cuddled up in new pajamas and fuzzy slippers watching all kinds of movies! Netflix and Amazon prime, here we come!
Cook into the New Year
For all of my cooking lovers, or those who want to get better at it in 2018, consider cooking into the New Year! I know what you’re going to say…Eating past ten is so unhealthy, girl! I know….anywayyyyyy in my family, we eat black-eyed peas every year for the New Year. According to the Washington Post, this was originally a tradition for slaves and I have not yet seen a New Years where my dad wasn’t stirring up a pot! Click here for a recipe to try it out!
Milk and Cookie Champagne Toast
Y’all. This is the most adorable thing I have seen on Pinterest. If you don’t like drinking but still want to have a New Years toast, try this milk and cookie champagne toast! This super cute idea is perfect for all my baking blessed, brilliant beauties out there. Try baking your favorite cookies from scratch and share it with some yummy milk!
Start a New Book
So I haven’t told you guys yet, but I am thinking about doing a reading challenge for myself this year. 2017 has taught me the importance of being okay with being by myself. Although I love my family, friends, and boyfriend, they can’t always physically be there. So glad I learned the lesson of being independent in 2017 because now I have fallen back into my passion for reading! Start reading more with me in 2018 by starting a new book!
Family Game Night
I love game night with my family! If you are staying in for New Year’s Eve and still have family around, take out those old board games and have a family game night! My family loves playing Taboo, Cards Against Humanity, Jenga, and HeadsUp (the app).
Start a Journal for 2018
Although I write a lot on my blog, I actually don’t journal as much as I want to. My grandma always tells me that the only people that really need to know all your business is your family and God. I am excited to start being more consistent with my prayer journal in 2018.
Pray into 2018
Speaking of praying, I can’t wait to pray into 2018 with a heart full of gratitude, vision, and blessings! I love being able to spend some quiet time with God especially during this time of year.
Decorate Wine Glasses and Make Mocktails
Who doesn’t love a little DIY during the holidays?! Spend your New Years Eve decorating wine glasses with your girls (or momma if you love your momma like me) and create your own mocktail (or cocktail if legally you’re old enough) of 2018! Mix your favorite juices and some gingerbread and get ready to pop, fizz, and clink into the new year!
Start a Year Long Devotional
Okay, so let me be real with y’all for a minute. I LOVE devotionals BUT sometimes it is so hard for me to keep up! If you are looking to strengthen your relationship with God this year (and discipline) try starting a year-long devotional! Check out the She Reads Truth App for something more digital.
Go to Your Church Service
I look forward to going to my church every year on New Year’s Eve! A lot of churches usually have a service on this day. If you think you would be about it, check out some local churches around you. (Trust me, you don’t have to be a member.) Don’t be afraid to reach out to a friend and go with them too!
I hope these ideas helped! To all my girls going to parties, be safe and live your best life girl! For those of us who can’t hang, let’s bring in the New Year our own way! What will you be doing New Year’s Eve? Let me know down in the comments! Always remember that you are blessed, brilliant, and beautiful! Check out how I am preparing for the New Year here!
