While scrolling on my Pinterest one night I came across a scripture talking about a woman in faith. One thing that I love about my journey in faith is that I am always learning. Though I do like blogging about faith-related things, I can promise you that I don’t know everything. To be exact, I don’t really know a lot, but I really enjoy learning more and more about the Word of God and sharing it with my blessed brilliant beauties.
Today we are talking about the Proverbs 31 woman. She is probably the most famous description of a woman in the bible, and there is a reason for that. She is the woman who many christian women strive to be and on the blog today, I am going to let you know why.
She has an Unmatched Energy and is a #Girlboss Proverbs 31:15-17
She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household…She is energetic and strong, a hard worker
The Proverbs 31 woman is energetic and rises with sunshine in the morning. Well, maybe not all that but she does make an effort to not waste her mornings because she knows the importance of that time. Try waking up a little earlier in the morning to pray and give yourself some self love. That means making time for a healthy breakfast, a workout, or a cup of hot chocolate while watching the morning news. Start your day off right to have the energy to work hard during the day. You got this girl.
She Grinds All Day Long Proverbs 31:18-19
“She makes sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night. Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber.”
Don’t ever be afraid of being a hard worker because that is exactly what a Proverbs 31 woman is. It’s a good habit to have–working hard–especially as a college woman. God wants us to be hard workers for his kingdom. When we work hard, we are able to show God’s light more.
She has the Heart of a Giver Proverbs 31:20
“She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy.”
My favorite aspect of the Proverbs 31 woman is that she is a woman of kindness. Striving to be a Proverbs 31 woman means striving to be a giver. It means working hard to be woman who is selfless and gives to others who are less fortunate than her.
She is Prepared Proverbs 31:21
“She has no fear of winter for her household, for everyone has warm clothes.”
When I first read this, I automatically thought about changing seasons. Not actual season but faith seasons. Notice how even when her seasons changed, the Proverbs 31 woman was prepared because she was logical, has vision, and faith that God would provide for her. Strive to be a Proverbs 31 woman by being a woman who practices being prepared emotionally, spiritually and physically for anything that can come her way.
She is Strong ,Fearless, and a Teacher Proverbs 31:25-27
“She is clothes and strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.”
Whenever I am feeling not so good about myself, I make myself read this. The Proverbs 31 woman wears an armor of strength and dignity. She knows what she stands for and doesn’t settle for anything less, she knows her worth. She is kind with her words even though it may be difficult. She is not lazy and works hard for herself and her family. This is the most important part of a Proverbs 31 woman. She never forgets the armor God has given her. She is a warrior.
As a woman in college, there is a lot of learning and trial and error with almost everything we do. The habits we develop in (good and bad) are probably ones that are going to stick with us in our adult lives. That is why this is probably the most essential time to start striving to be a Proverbs 31 woman. Notice how I used the word striving. Just like anything, you’re going to be this perfect woman who wakes up at 6am and always workouts out and eats the healthiest breakfast and so on and on and on. Because you’re probably not. But there is no reason why you shouldn’t strive to be the best woman you can be. Strive to be a Proverbs 31 woman because you are a daughter of the King. Strive to be a Proverbs 31 woman because YOU are blessed, brilliant, and beautiful and deserve it.
