The Travel Diaries: Six Days in Chicago

May 22, 2019 My Adventures, US Travel

So a couple of months ago, I booked a trip to visit my sister who lives in Chicago. I have never been and thought it would be fun to blog about my adventures whiles I was there. I spent six days in the city, with my sister, and did some exploring, shopping and a whole lot of eating. Interested in visiting Chicago, check out what I did!

Chicago is a city that has a plethora of restaurants, museums, shopping, and attractions. There are a lot of different neighborhoods to visit and it is pleasantly placed near Lake Michigan where a gust of wind might greet you with a shuddering hello if it is your first time visiting…or second…or third. (Basically, bring a jacket at all times.) Luckily while I was there the weather was not too chilly thanks to the apparently rare visit from the sun!

I do not think there was a place I ate in Chicago that wasn’t amazing. I kept asking my sister, “OMG, how do you even choose?!” There is literally something for everybody. If you are a food lover, this is DEFINITELY the place for you! During my stay in Chicago, I ate at the following places:

The Hampton Social // Perfect for brunch or drinks in the evening. Try their Frosé!
Broken English Tacos // This was such a yummy place for lunch! Here I had their famous tacos and fresh margaritas with REAL fruit in them!
Mindy’s Hot Chocolate – Love hot chocolate like me? Stop by this famous spot for some homemade hot chocolate! Order the ‘Medium’ hot chocolate if it is your first time!
Jenni’s Ice Cream // The absolute BEST ice cream in Chicago! There are so many different flavors and even have dairy free options!
Cafecito Cafe – Do you want a cute cup of cafe con leche and an amazing breakfast sandwich? Stop by here before you get your shop on!
Portillo’s Hot Dogs // I am pretty sure I have never eaten a better hot dog in my entire life!
Giordano’s // It is a MUST to try a deep dish pizza from Giordano’s while you are in Chicago!
The Little Goat Diner // Check out this famous little diner for lunch!

Magnificent Mile // Best place to go for a walk or shop until you drop!
Navy Pier // Do you want to feel like you on the Seine in France? Pack yourself some lunch and head to the Navy Pier or Chicago’s Lakefront! Don’t forget your ticket’s to the IMAX theater at the Navy Pier!

The Famous Bean

Cloud Gate “The Bean” | Millennium Park Foundation // Visit this famous sculpture called, “The Bean” and find your reflection in it!
SoulCycle Chicago | The Loop // Get yourself a super fun workout in by scheduling your spin class at one of the SoulCycle locations in Chicago!
The Field Museum // Who doesn’t love a good museum visit? This is just one of the amazing museums in Chicago!
&blowdry // An amazing salon to cater to anyone of your needs! Need your hair done while in the city? Look no further!
City Church Chicago // I stopped by the 1pm service on a Sunday and loved it! They have multiple services at different times.
Ghirardelli Chocolateir / Everywhere I went I kept smelling chocolate! Welp, guess I finally figured out what that delicious smell was! Yummmy!

Jeni’s is so delicious. They have such a great selection of vegan flavors, which is so nice when you’re out with people who aren’t vegan.
