Happy Friday Blessed Brilliant Beauties!
Today on the blog we are going to be talking about things to do to boost your mood! Sometimes life can come at you unexpected and the thing you want to do most is lay in bed and beat yourself up about it. But we have to stop letting the things we can’t control define us in moments like these. We have to find courage within ourselves to endure, persevere, and continue to climb our mountain!
So here are five tips on how to boost your mood when you don’t feel like doing anything.
Book a Workout Class and Actually Go
Whenever I am feeling blue, my mom ALWAYS tells me to get up and go workout. Even though I really won’t want to, the minute I trick myself into booking a class I paid for, I automatically feel obligated to go because I don’t want to waste my money. Every time I workout when I’m feeling sad I almost always feel immediately better when I am done because I usually tell myself to leave all my frustrations at the gym or studio. Next time you’re feeling down, go release some endorphins at a spin or barre class to boost your mood! You’ll feel really proud of yourself when you do.
Write in a Journal
I started doing this a lot more. Strangely, I never used to write in a journal. Some great writer is currently turning in their grave as I share this but I finally got one and to say the least, things have really changed. Before, anything that was sitting heavy on my heart was automatically shared with friends or family. But I realized that sometimes the things that were weighing heavy were things I needed to spend time talking to God and figuring out myself. Whatever your struggle may be that is causing your mood to go down, it really feels nice getting it out of your system and down onto a page. It’s almost as if I’m leaving it to God to handle once it’s written out in ink.
For that Day, Do Things that Make You Happy
One of the things I do when I’m feeling a little sad is spontaneously doing things that make me happy. So, if I want to go to the movies, I’ll take myself on a date to next viewing! If I want a chocolate milkshake and a Netflix binge session, well that’s exactly what I do. I do this because sometimes we can get so caught in doing everything for everyone else that we forget about ourselves. Practice self-love and on those days like you don’t feel like yourself, start choosing yourself.
Have Quiet Time
Quiet time is becoming one of my favorite things to do each day. Living in an area filled with noise all around me, it is just so peaceful to be silent, spending time with myself. Now I do love hanging with my boyfriend and friends but there is just something so relaxing about being in a quite environment. My thoughts are clearer and I really get time to just listen to my mind and heart without being distracted or deterred from my original thoughts. Try it!
Put on Makeup and Dress Up
When I was younger, my mom always use to tell me, “Just take the extra five minutes to put makeup on.” This advice has truly been life changing especially when I’m not feeling my best. They were right, a girl can do anything when she puts on her lipstick. When I take the extra time in the morning to put my hair in a cute braid or splash a little perfume on, I feel UNSTOPPABLE!
Never forget, that we are not suppose to be happy all of the time. It is okay to feel disappointed or down. But remember, the judgement of our character is not how we choose to live our lives when the sun comes up with ease but rather how we react (or don’t react) to those things in life that cause us a great sense of discomfort. Choose to endure and preserve Blessed, Brilliant, Beauties and never forget who your God is! You are forever blessed, brilliant, and beautiful.

Matthew 6:33-34
“But seek first His kingdom and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
